Land Disturbance / Development

Review Requirements


Submit 4 sets of stamped civil plans, 1 hard copy of the hydrology study, and a completed Development Permit Application (PDF) to the Planning and Development Department. A review fee is required at the time of submittal based on the size of the Land Disturbance. Please refer to Permit Fees (PDF) regarding fee requirements.

The Department will route your plans to be reviewed by the appropriate City of Lawrenceville departments. Comments will be returned along with an outline of any additional agency approvals required such as; SSWCC, EPD, GDOT, Gwinnett County Fire Plan Review, Gwinnett County Water and Sewer, etc.

Resubmittal Requirements


Once all comments have been addressed, submit 4 sets of stamped civil plans that have been approved by other required agencies and 1 hard copy of the hydrology study to the Planning and Development Department. The Department will route the plans to the appropriate City departments for re-review.

Permit Issuance


Once approved by all required departments, the submitter will be notified that the permit is ready to be issued. Permits will only be issued to state licensed General Contractors. Permit fees must be paid at the time of permit issuance. Please refer to Permit Fees (PDF) regarding fee requirements.

Pre-Construction Meeting


Prior to the commencement of any land disturbance activity, a pre-construction meeting must take place between the Contractor and Engineering Inspector. Please contact the Engineering Inspector at 770-277-7536 to schedule the pre-construction meeting.

Submitted Plans


All submitted plans must be drawn to a standard scale and must be accurate.
