LAWRENCEVILLE (METRO ATLANTA) GA – April 27, 2018 - There are over a ton of reasons why you should come to downtown Lawrenceville on Saturday, May 5th! In partnership with Galactic Quest, the City of Lawrenceville will host Free Comic Book Day on May 5th from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. where over a ton of FREE comic books will be distributed. The annual FREE Comic Book Day is part of a national collaboration where comic book specialty shops give away comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into their stores.

Coinciding with Lawrenceville’s event theme, “Be Your Own Hero,” event-goers are invited to wear their favorite costumes as they visit the shops around the Square to find FREE comic books from their favorite artists. The event will also feature a create-your-own-mask station and photo opportunities with Darth Vader, Super Woman and Captain America. Adding to the excitement, the Ghostbusters and the Ecto-Jeep will be onsite.

Event Partner Galactic Quest will host Josh Hood, artist of “We Can Never Go Home,” “The Flash,” “Superman,” “Superboy” and “The Ravers,” and many more. Various downtown merchants will host additional comic book artists. Other event highlights include Sony PlayStation's display at Galactic Quest and CW Network and Anime Weekend Atlanta’s booth and giveaways.

Thank you to Lawrenceville's event sponsors Consolidated Supply & Pipe Company, McCray's Tavern on the Square and Kona Ice. Without their support, events such as the Free Comic Book Day would not be possible!
