A Center for Enterprise

Historically, Lawrenceville became a hub of activity as the county seat of Gwinnett and transportation center with its early railroad. Today, progressive city leadership and actively involved citizens continue to inspire new and redevelopment while making Lawrenceville a place that appeals to enterprising businesses, organizations, professionals, up-and-comers, and families. Creating a full range of opportunities and experiences, Lawrenceville laid out the welcome mat for Gwinnett Medical Center, the Aurora Theater, the Gwinnett Braves Minor League Baseball Team, and Discover Mills—to name a few.

Encouraging participation and input of business leaders and professionals, Georgia Gwinnett College and Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville are uniquely attuned to fulfilling the immediate and future needs of employers through higher education. Established in 2006, Georgia Gwinnett College is the nation’s first four-year public college created in the 21st Century and Georgia’s first four-year public college established in over 100 years. In addition to offering bachelor and associate degrees in conjunction with the University of Georgia and Georgia Perimeter College, the liberal arts institution also has a number of graduate programs.

To accommodate changing lifestyles as well as resurrect the hometown experience, Lawrenceville has revitalized its downtown district with an array of locally owned shops and restaurants that mingle with historic landmarks, professional offices, upscale residential development and entertainment.  Southern hospitality prevails in light of a global presence in the business, educational, and cultural arenas.  All who live, work, study, and play in Lawrenceville benefit from a rich production and exchange of ideas and innovations.

Also serving Lawrenceville businesses and organizations is a thriving Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce with a wealth of resources, programs and special events.

Additionally, the Lawrenceville Tourism and Trade Association (LTTA)—a mini chamber of commerce for local merchants and organizations—provides a powerful and cohesive marketing arm that promotes Lawrenceville’s resources worldwide.

Widely recognized as an industry center of North Georgia, Lawrenceville is home to Gwinnett County's Briscoe Field, the third largest airport in Georgia and an important corporate hub. Easy access to a number of highways—Interstate 85, US 29, Georgia 20, Georgia 120, and Georgia 316—further facilitate transportation.

As friends to enterprise, Lawrenceville leaders and representatives would be happy to share more information about the opportunities available to you. For specific answers to your questions, please contact the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce as well as the City of Lawrenceville.
