Recycling Day – Saturday, October 19, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
On Saturday, October 19, between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM, the City will conduct a “Recycling Day” in the parking lot at 20 South Clayton Street (the old Police Department building). Staff will be available to assist unloading and a forklift will be available to handle pallets once they are full.
“Recycling of materials shows good stewardship of our environment and our city – a practice that earned Lawrenceville the 2012 ‘Government of the Year’ award from Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful,” said Mayor Judy Jordan Johnson. “We look forward to a very active day this Saturday and invite our citizens and neighbors to join us in our efforts for a greener, cleaner community.”
Here are some specifics to remember when gathering recyclables:
- Electronics will be accepted. There will be a $10 charge for TVs and computer monitors with lead; otherwise everything else is free.
- Paper shredding will be available, so bring old papers and documents.
- Passenger vehicle tires will be accepted at a charge of $2.00 each. NO other tires will be accepted.
- NO paint or paint cans will be accepted.
