Comprehensive Planning

Overview

In 2018, the City of Lawrenceville adopted its 2040 Comprehensive Plan (PDF). This plan document provides the framework for our elected officials and city government to guide the future growth and development of the city. The Comprehensive Plan includes an assessment of the factors contributing to the health of the city, such as:

  • demographics
  • the economy
  • housing availability
  • transportation facilities
  • the environment
  • community facilities

The plan then includes a defined work program and implementation strategies for achieving the vision it sets forth, promoting the quality of life for residents, and assuring the economic vitality of the local business community.

Revised Comprehensive Plans

Through solid planning and development, the City of Lawrenceville’s Revised Comprehensive Plans provide short and long-term strategies to improve the quality of life in the City and to assure the economic vitality of the local business community. 

Growth Strategies Planning Act

Plans for the City of Lawrenceville satisfy State requirements for comprehensive planning as outlined in the “Growth Strategies Planning Act of 1989”, and “Minimum Standards and Procedures for Local Comprehensive Planning” as approved by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA)
