Inspections

The City of Lawrenceville performs the following building inspections for permitted projects to ensure code compliance in order to protect life, limb, and property:

  • Mechanical

The City of Lawrenceville also performs site inspections for new construction that includes: 

  • Curbing
  • Paving
  • Stabilization
  • Landscaping
  • Erosion Control
  • Grading
  • Buffers
  • Tree Save Areas
  • Streets and Driveways
  • Stormwater Management Facilities 

Inspection Process

  • Inspections are required for all Building Permits and Land Disturbance Permits
  • Inspections may be ordered by emailing Planning & Development or Phone: 678-407-6583
  • General Contractors must order inspections for commercial projects
  • Permit number and job site address must be included with inspection requests
  • Prior to land disturbance activities, a pre-construction meeting must be held with Engineering Inspector
  • Sub-Contractor Affidavits (PDF) should be submitted prior to ordering inspections
  • Prior to construction for new buildings over 10,000 square feet, a pre-construction meeting must be held with the Building Official

*Residential homeowners may serve as the General Contractor for residential building permits with a completed Homeowner Affidavit (PDF).
