Highest form of governmental accounting recognition granted to City Finance Department.

The City of Lawrenceville has once again been awarded the “Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting” (CAFR) by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). This award is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. 2019 marks the fourth consecutive year that the City has been awarded this honor.
“Lawrenceville’s mission to provide the highest quality services to its citizens and businesses is achieved through the talents of well-trained and knowledgeable staff,” said Chuck Warbington, City Manager. “We are proud of our Finance Department and the Citizens Financial Review Committee for attaining this notable achievement and maintaining Lawrenceville’s standards for responsible budgeting and transparency.”
The CAFR is judged by an impartial panel in order to maintain the program’s high standards and integrity. Lawrenceville Finance Director, Keith Lee added, “We appreciate the leadership of the Mayor and Council that enable our team to achieve excellence to this level. This award represents a host of individuals coming together to provide significant, detailed and responsible budgetary decisions for our community and we are grateful for their collective effort.”
The City of Lawrenceville will begin planning for the new budget year - FY2021 - in the coming weeks. Fiscal year for the City runs from July – June. To view this year’s award-winning annual report, please go here.
