The events lineup includes the return of the Annual Hometown Holiday Parade.
The City of Lawrenceville has released its 2023 Events Calendar featuring 22 events from February through December. The city’s free events include old favorites like the Live in the DTL Concert Series held at the Lawrenceville Lawn, Prelude to the Fourth Fireworks Spectacular, Feature Friday Movie Nights, and Free Comic Book Day. Long-time Lawrenceville community members will be excited to see the return of the Hometown Holiday Parade on December 2. The full calendar can be found at www.downtownlawrencevillega.com and at www.lawrencevillega.org.
“We have had several requests to return the annual Christmas Parade to our events calendar since we made that change due to COVID in 2020,” said Melissa Hardegree, Community Relations Director. “Our Events Team is excited to bring this beloved event back to the community along with our other great events.”
The City of Lawrenceville offers a wide variety of culturally rich experiences and events, including Around the World in the DTL, a two-day cultural celebration of food and music in partnership with the Atlanta International Night Market. Cultura Fiesta Latina will return in 2023. The Latin heritage festival of food, dancing, and music during Hispanic Heritage Month was created in 2022 and was highly successful. The June 16th Live in the DTL Concert will be a Juneteenth Celebration at the Lawrenceville Lawn.
The City plans to Light Lawrenceville Blue during National Police Week in May. And the Lawrenceville Legacy Leaders Youth Council will offer its first youth-organized mental health awareness event on March 10th at the Lawrenceville Lawn.
“Our Events Team has once again provided a variety of opportunities for our citizens to enjoy time with family and friends in the City of Lawrenceville and to engage with the community,” said Mayor David Still. “And I personally am looking forward to the return of the Hometown Holiday Parade.”
Details on specific events will be released on social media, Downtown Lawrenceville’s tourism website, and the City of Lawrenceville Website. All events are free, but some may require pre-registration due to space limits.
There is plenty of free parking throughout Downtown Lawrenceville, with parking decks on Crogan and Luckie Streets. Visit www.lville.city/parking to view all available free parking locations. Event attendees are also encouraged to check out the many restaurants and shops around the square and Depot District.
