1. What is the due date and cut-off date for my account?

Accounts beginning with a 1 or 2 are in Cycle 1. Accounts beginning with a 3 or 4 are in Cycle 2. Accounts beginning with a 5 or 8 are in Cycle 3. Accounts beginning with a 6 or 7 are in Cycle 4. For more information refer to our Billing Dates (PDF).

2. What happens if I do not pay my utility bill?

A notification will be mailed to you notifying you of our intent to disconnect your service.

• Provides date by which you must make payment
• Service will be disconnected after this date if payment is not made

3. Can I have an extension or make a payment arrangement?

No, the City does not grant extensions or make payment arrangements. 

4. How may I make payments?

By mail, online, by phone, or in person at City Hall.

5. Can I set up an automatic bank draft online?

No. The paperwork must be returned to City Hall with a voided check. Once all required documentation is submitted, it will take two (2) billing cycles for the automatic bank draft to take effect. View the

6. Can the disconnect fees, returned check fees, late fees or after hours reconnect fees be waived or removed?

The City does not waive any fees for residential customers. Business customers are allowed a waiver of late fees once every twelve months. 

7. When can I get my deposit back?

The deposit (less outstanding charges and fees) is returned to the customer after the account is closed. For residential customers, if the customer has not had any late payments for two years, the deposit is returned as a credit on the customer’s account.

8. Can I change my bill’s due date?

No, the bill’s due date is based on the customer’s address.

9. What happens if I have an inactive account with a balance left on it?

Inactive accounts with an unpaid balance may be submitted to a third-party agency for collection and may negatively affect your credit report. For payment information, please contact Collections at 678-407-6570.
